Cheesecake 2#

We just celebrated my sister`s birthday and instead of a cake she had a Cheesecake. To be exact she had a Carmel Pecan Cheesecake. It was so good. I love it. It is so light and fluffy how can anyone not love it? Today my Dad made a pumpkin Cheesecake to sell at a farmers market. But going to this farmers market is not the only way to get some Cheesecake. You can also go to
face book and look up Real Mans Cheesecake or tell me if you want some and I`ll email it to my Dad. You can also give one for a gift.

Joanna

Joanna ate some banana.
She is 8 mos, has blue eyes, brownish hair, is crawling and is starting to eat real food.
She loves to stand and to watch us vacuum. She is perfectly cute. She is slightly smaller than her 4 mos, old cousin Joey and is hugged and cuddled all the time.

State History Assignment 11#

US History Assignments-black

What is a state seal? Not merely decorative symbols of statehood, the seals of state have been used to designate official acts of state through the ages, and their use is strictly prescribed by law. I think state seals are like snapshots of each state`s history

What is your state’s seal?
I`m copying this from a book:
The great seal of the state shall be 2 1/2 inches in diameter and shall consist of the coat of arms of the state within a circle having a diameter of 1 3/4 inches, surrounded by the words "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF OHIO" in news gothic capitals.

The coat of arms of the state shall consist of the following device: a circular shield; in the right foreground of the shield a full sheaf of wheat bound and standing erect; in the left foreground, a cluster of 17 arrows bound in the center and resembling in form the sheaf of wheat; in the background, a representation of Mount Logan, Ross county, as viewed from Adena state memorial; over the mount, a rising sun three-quarters exposed and radiating thirteen rays to represent the thirteen original colonies
shining over the first state in the northwest territory, the exterior extremities of witch form a semicircle; and uniting the background and the foreground, a representation of the Scioto river and cultivated fields....
When the coat of arms of the state is reproduced in color, the colors used shall be substantially the same as the natural color of the terrain and objects shown.

When was it established?

The Great Seal of the State of Ohio has undergone several design changes throughout its history. The rotunda of the Statehouse, for example, has a magnificent skylight with a handpainted version of a Seal that was designed in 1847. This version is similar to Ohio's present seal, but features a canal boat that is totally missing from today's seal.

In an attempt to reign in the design of the seal, the Legislature officially adopted Ohio's modern version in 1967, modifying it in 1996. The Scioto River flows across the center of the seal, separating cultivated fields from Mount Logan. Thirteen rays of a rising sun radiate over the mountain, symbolizing the 13 original colonies. In the foreground stands a sheaf of wheat, representing agriculture and bounty. Mimicking the sheaf of wheat is a bundle of 17 arrows, symbolizing Ohio as the 17th state to join the Union.

What does it represent about your state?
The seal of the state of Ohio is a symbol of the authority and sovereignty of the state and is a valuable asset of its people. It is the intent of the state government to ensure that appropriate uses are made of the state seal and to assist the secretary of state in the performance of the secretary's constitutional duty as custodian of the seal.

Post a picture of your state seal

Is there something interesting about your state seal?Yes, I think that what it stands for is interesting:
The seal of the state of Ohio is a symbol of the authority and sovereignty of the state and is a valuable asset of its people. It is the intent of the state government to ensure that appropriate uses are made of the state seal and to assist the secretary of state in the performance of the secretary's constitutional duty as custodian of the seal.

Some short poems I made up

My Day
I wake up and get dressed for the day.
I eat breakfast and clean up.
I get mad and fight.
I hug and make up.
I eat lunch and clean up.
I make a mess and clean up.
I eat dinner and clean up.
I get dressed for the night and read.
I go to sleep and that is my day.

My Bedroom is big
My bedroom is big and has 3 dressers.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers and has 3 beds.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds and has 2 windows.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds, has 2 windows and has 2 lights.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds, has 2 windows, has 2 lights and has 1 chair.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds, has 2 windows, has 2 lights, 1 chair and 1 door.
That is my big bedroom.

Sometimes a very big and crazy family
I am the oldest in a family of 9, the Christain family and sometimes I think that our family is the most crazy family ever for as you see we are a big family.
But I know we are not biggest and craziest family.
The 2nd biggest is a family of 12 and the biggest family is a family of 18.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - the 3 R`s
We can reduce our trash by using glass plates instead of paper.
We can recycle our trash by making new paper out of old paper.
We can reuse our trash by putting things in the old box`s.

We share a love for nature
We share a love for nature that none can take away.
Our love for nature will last forever.
Our love for nature is unique, none can compare.

My sisters and me
My sisters and me,
My sisters and me,
We love each other,
My sisters and me,
We love to play with each other,
My sisters and me,
And we will love each other
and play each other forever,
My sisters and me,
My sisters and me.

Fall

Falling leaves
A time to rake the leaves that fall
Love the time of year
Love to run in the chilly fall wind
