Dear journal,

Yesterday we ate breakfast and then at 10`clock we went to a friends house. Me and my sisters played with two of their youngest daughters our age. We did things like playing apples to apples, anything goes and we ate lunch. Soon after that we left and did some shopping. When we got home we had homemade spaghetti and sauce for dinner.

Watermelon Ice cream

I found this on the computer, I have not tried it but I think it sounds good.
Enjoy.

MeLinda, 9 New York
What you need:
1 gallon green "lime" sherbert
1 gallon pink "strawberry" sherbert
1 cup chocolate chips
1 big freezer safe bowl
How to make it:
1. Scoop the green ice cream in the bottom of the bowl until it's about a half inch thick and then spread it all around the bowl. You need to cover the whole bowl (sort of like your making another bowl inside the bowl you are using). *This is the watermelon rind (outside of the watermelon).
2. Then fill the rest of the bowl with pink ice cream. *This is the meat (inside) of the watermelon.
3. Then sprinkle the 1 cup of chocolate chips on top (you can still try to mix them into the pink ice cream).
4. Freeze for several hours until firm.
5. Turn bowl upside down on a plate and pull the bowl off, then cut into pieces for you and some friends to eat!
This was a lot of fun to make and eat. I was really surprised how well it turned out, it looked just like real watermelon!

baseball

Yesterday was fun or you could call it tiring. We had 3 different baseball practices - Daniel 10:30, Devorah 2:00 and Abby 5:00. My Mom took me to this Kurtz Brothers in Garfield instead, so that we could learn about container gardening. We got a lot of information. But it was fun.

I`m havin` fun!

Lock in:

Friday I made Truffles out of a bag of crushed Peppermint Oreo`s, Cream cheese and Dark chocolate, Very good. I made them for that night at the church lock in for 3rd-7th grade kids (at our church called kids club). When we got there we had pizza and cake, then went roller skating. When we got back we had ice cream sundaes, the truffles, and other things I can`t remember. Then we set up our sleeping bags. We had a talent show. We tried to watch a movie but they would not work. So we went to sleep. In the morning we had pancakes and sausage. Then got everything together to go home. Our Grandma M. picked us up and then I went to my Grandpa Z.`s house.

Grandparents house:

I`m at my Grandparents house house right now and decided to write a post. I came here cause my Grandpa Z. needed a little help cleaning the house (Grandma Z. is in Florida for a few days) so I came over. We cleaned up the house, went to the mall to get me new tennis shoes (my old ones were trash and not good for anything!), When we got home we took a rest then went to McDonald's for dinner and at home we played Scrabble (I won). Had lots of fun (Thank you Grandpa Z.). I`m sleeping over too.

Adventures in Odyssey

Devorah loves Adventures in Odyssey. Its cool. Its on at 4:30 - 5:00. Its station is 103.3. You should listen.

Joanna

She`s walking. The most she walked is 18 steps today. We celebrated her birthday the 13 and when we set her cake in front of her she grabbed it flung it around the room. She can say Dada, Doggie (or her version at least), Mama, Baba and other things I can`t remember.

My Dad is a great cook!!

My Dad is a great cook. I`m serious about it too. He makes Delicious food. One day he made a salad that had meat, mandarin orange, 2 different kinds of lettuce and a few pieces of bread and he made dressing to go with it. Another time he made chicken, rice, broccoli and a sauce. right now hes making a mystery food (at least I don`t know what hes making).

Letters or Snail-mail

I`m going to challenge you to send a letter to some one that you know but have not seen in a while. Maybe make a card. It dos`t have to be long. It could even be as short as "Thinking about you." It will make them smile just to know your thinking about them.
“To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart.”

Ice Skating

It was so much fun and I can almost skate by myself. I went with kid`s club and some older kids that wanted to come (kid`s club is a thing I go to at my church). We brought Heather one of our friends to ice skating and she made lots of friends. Before we went had lunch. Lunch was either noodles or spaghetti, brownies, cookies and lemonade. There were 15 of us that went. We went Sunday right after church and skated for half an hour (including when the zombie came around).

The Wii

My Grandma and a friend of hers bought this Wii for us as a Christmas present(Thank You).
Ever since we got it no one has played the game cube witch everyone loved, but the new favorite is definitely the Wii. We just got a new controller and WiiPlay (witch if I have any say is really fun), it has Shooting - ducks, Charge - cows that you have to get across the finish line or lose, Fishing, Person search - you have to find 2 matching people/the fastest person/the person your using or find the person who is does not match anyone else, Table tennis, Laser hockey, Battle - you have a tank and there are a few other tanks that you have to destroy, Bubbles - there is a shape (of a person) that you have to do the bubbles can not drop to the bottom of the TV and Pool. It is TONS of fun.

My Dad`s school

My Dad goes to Tri-C so he can earn a degree in cooking to sell his cheesecakes (see Cheesecake 1# and Cheesecake 2#). He does really good. Now I don`t know how my Dad likes it (I know I like it, cause he brought some really good brownies and I loved them. They were so good. Sooo I made some. I hope they turn out O.K. ). My Dad`s school work sounds easy compared to mine (I don`t care if its just a little bit a math). I glanced at once and the math problem I saw was easy to figure out (I wonder if my mom would let me do his math ).

Well I should stop complaining about my math and go do it,
so bye.

State History Assignment 12#

Song Title:
Beautiful Ohio
Written by Ballard MacDonald
special lyrics by Wilbert B. McBride
Composed by Mary Earl

Song Verses:

I sailed away;
Wandered afar;
Crossed the mighty restless sea;
Looked for where I ought to be.
Cities so grand, mountains above,
Led to this land I love.

Chorus

Beautiful Ohio, where the golden grain
Dwarf the lovely flowers in the summer rain.
Cities rising high, silhouette the sky.
Freedom is supreme in this majestic land;
Mighty factories seem to hum in tune, so grand.
Beautiful Ohio, thy wonders are in view,
Land where my dreams all come true!

When was it adopted? 1969
Who was it written by? Ballard Macdonald
What are your thoughts about it? I like it
