Cheesecake 2#

We just celebrated my sister`s birthday and instead of a cake she had a Cheesecake. To be exact she had a Carmel Pecan Cheesecake. It was so good. I love it. It is so light and fluffy how can anyone not love it? Today my Dad made a pumpkin Cheesecake to sell at a farmers market. But going to this farmers market is not the only way to get some Cheesecake. You can also go to
face book and look up Real Mans Cheesecake or tell me if you want some and I`ll email it to my Dad. You can also give one for a gift.

Joanna

Joanna ate some banana.
She is 8 mos, has blue eyes, brownish hair, is crawling and is starting to eat real food.
She loves to stand and to watch us vacuum. She is perfectly cute. She is slightly smaller than her 4 mos, old cousin Joey and is hugged and cuddled all the time.

State History Assignment 11#

US History Assignments-black

What is a state seal? Not merely decorative symbols of statehood, the seals of state have been used to designate official acts of state through the ages, and their use is strictly prescribed by law. I think state seals are like snapshots of each state`s history

What is your state’s seal?
I`m copying this from a book:
The great seal of the state shall be 2 1/2 inches in diameter and shall consist of the coat of arms of the state within a circle having a diameter of 1 3/4 inches, surrounded by the words "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF OHIO" in news gothic capitals.

The coat of arms of the state shall consist of the following device: a circular shield; in the right foreground of the shield a full sheaf of wheat bound and standing erect; in the left foreground, a cluster of 17 arrows bound in the center and resembling in form the sheaf of wheat; in the background, a representation of Mount Logan, Ross county, as viewed from Adena state memorial; over the mount, a rising sun three-quarters exposed and radiating thirteen rays to represent the thirteen original colonies
shining over the first state in the northwest territory, the exterior extremities of witch form a semicircle; and uniting the background and the foreground, a representation of the Scioto river and cultivated fields....
When the coat of arms of the state is reproduced in color, the colors used shall be substantially the same as the natural color of the terrain and objects shown.

When was it established?

The Great Seal of the State of Ohio has undergone several design changes throughout its history. The rotunda of the Statehouse, for example, has a magnificent skylight with a handpainted version of a Seal that was designed in 1847. This version is similar to Ohio's present seal, but features a canal boat that is totally missing from today's seal.

In an attempt to reign in the design of the seal, the Legislature officially adopted Ohio's modern version in 1967, modifying it in 1996. The Scioto River flows across the center of the seal, separating cultivated fields from Mount Logan. Thirteen rays of a rising sun radiate over the mountain, symbolizing the 13 original colonies. In the foreground stands a sheaf of wheat, representing agriculture and bounty. Mimicking the sheaf of wheat is a bundle of 17 arrows, symbolizing Ohio as the 17th state to join the Union.

What does it represent about your state?
The seal of the state of Ohio is a symbol of the authority and sovereignty of the state and is a valuable asset of its people. It is the intent of the state government to ensure that appropriate uses are made of the state seal and to assist the secretary of state in the performance of the secretary's constitutional duty as custodian of the seal.

Post a picture of your state seal

Is there something interesting about your state seal?Yes, I think that what it stands for is interesting:
The seal of the state of Ohio is a symbol of the authority and sovereignty of the state and is a valuable asset of its people. It is the intent of the state government to ensure that appropriate uses are made of the state seal and to assist the secretary of state in the performance of the secretary's constitutional duty as custodian of the seal.

Some short poems I made up

My Day
I wake up and get dressed for the day.
I eat breakfast and clean up.
I get mad and fight.
I hug and make up.
I eat lunch and clean up.
I make a mess and clean up.
I eat dinner and clean up.
I get dressed for the night and read.
I go to sleep and that is my day.

My Bedroom is big
My bedroom is big and has 3 dressers.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers and has 3 beds.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds and has 2 windows.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds, has 2 windows and has 2 lights.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds, has 2 windows, has 2 lights and has 1 chair.
My bedroom is big, has 3 dressers, has 3 beds, has 2 windows, has 2 lights, 1 chair and 1 door.
That is my big bedroom.

Sometimes a very big and crazy family
I am the oldest in a family of 9, the Christain family and sometimes I think that our family is the most crazy family ever for as you see we are a big family.
But I know we are not biggest and craziest family.
The 2nd biggest is a family of 12 and the biggest family is a family of 18.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - the 3 R`s
We can reduce our trash by using glass plates instead of paper.
We can recycle our trash by making new paper out of old paper.
We can reuse our trash by putting things in the old box`s.

We share a love for nature
We share a love for nature that none can take away.
Our love for nature will last forever.
Our love for nature is unique, none can compare.

My sisters and me
My sisters and me,
My sisters and me,
We love each other,
My sisters and me,
We love to play with each other,
My sisters and me,
And we will love each other
and play each other forever,
My sisters and me,
My sisters and me.

Fall

Falling leaves
A time to rake the leaves that fall
Love the time of year
Love to run in the chilly fall wind

Obey your parents

Read: Exodus 20:1-17
"Mia, I need you to take Adam to the park." said Mom
"Why can`t my twin Sam do it? I`m going to Lydia`s to help her pack for the sleep over." whined Mia
"Because Sam is going with your Dad to help him repair that pipe of Mrs.Waters that broke, its already been 2 days and your Dad should have repaired it when she asked, Understand?"
(sigh) "Alright. Hey Adam why don`t we play at Brian`s house?" said Mia. And Lydia`s house thought Mia as she happily putting Adam`s shoes on him Oh and I will not have to watch him, because Mrs.Gibson my Sunday school teacher has always loved watching him and I won`t need to explain everything to Lydia. Its perfect and Mom will not know a thing about it.
"Mom?"
"Yes, Mia?"
"I`m taking Adam for a walk, OK?"
"OK."
When they got to his friends house Adam ran inside shouting "Brian, I have come to play with you for 2 hours, Ok."
Lydia came running down the stairs saying as she ran "Hi Mia. Your Mom called to say you were not coming cause you had to watch Adam."
"Oh, Well I brought him to play with Brian. Because I wanted to see you but my Mom would not let me."
"Alright. We can get my Mom to watch them."
"Alright."
"Come on up stairs I don`t know what to wear to the sleep over. Is any one else going to come?"
"No and I know exactly what you should wear."

2 hours later

"Lets go and put your stuff up stairs." said Mia as they went inside her house.
"Mia, is that you?"
"Yeah, Mom?"
"You are grounded for 2 weeks, young lady."
"Why?"
"Because you lied to me and said you and Adam were going on a walk when you were going to Lydia`s house."
"How did you find out?"
"I had called Mrs.Gibson and told her you were not coming. So she just called me to say you guys were on your way here from her house."

Have you ever lied to your parents?
If you have ask their forgiveness and then ask God to forgive your sins.

Memorize:
Exodus 20:16
"You shall not Lie."

The word for the Day

Allegory - a story that is written or told to represent an Idea or Belief.
So some books are a type of allegory. One example is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - where Aslan took Edmund`s place and died because Edmund had been a trader; so I think Aslan is a lot like Jesus, Cause Aslan came back to life.
Another example is The Door Within series. This time the one who dies is King Eliam, who is killed to save his people. He is killed by the once good Paragor (meaning - one of eternal darkness), who is then cast out, so he lives in Paragory (meaning - the dark gate) and he tries to take over many times.
There may be other books, but I don`t know them. If you do please tell me. I did the 2 I know of.

See ya next time.

Joanna and Ben the 2 troublemakers and the 2 cuties

Joanna is a BIG trouble maker at 6 months, I mean a BIG trouble maker. She is into paper and small toys (toys she can swallow like the wheels on a toy car - that have little pieces) and books and all kinds of other stuff. She can get into stuff because shes crawling.
But she is also cute with two dark blue eyes, a tiny nose and a beautiful little smile.
Ben is also a BIG trouble maker as well
  1. Hes squeezes Joanna
  2. He gets into our stuff
  3. He gets into markers or pens and starts drawing on himself (think its funny to he does)
  4. He does not listen to you and throws fits.
But hes cute in his own way with a funny little voice, his funny little face and his short sandy hair.
Well bye.

The candy world

This is what I think the candy world would be like:
You could sit in chairs made of cinnamon sticks at desks and tables made of hardened maple syrup while you read (and eat) books made of candied fruit. Sleep in a bed made of cheesecake with a pillow and blanket of sugared fruit. Living in a house made like a ginger bread house with doors made of star bursts, pillars made of licorice sticks, cotton candy clouds, windows of flat round lollipops and rock candy. Grass of shredded coconut colored green, trees of tootsie pop suckers.
Cars of candy bars and life savers, flowers out of carved suckers, a sun of a giant jawbreaker.
Side walks and roads of bumpy truffles, fresh water made out of blue gushers, towels made of
fruit roll-ups, hats made of carved marshmallows, walking sticks of peppermint sticks, powdered sugar snow, cup cake for flowers, tvs made of cake, bags and boxs made of fruit flavored yogurt, donuts are rafts and fun couches, pudding pools, carmel gates, toys made of taffy and milk shake ink, so what can I say except that we live in a candy world (and if I could I would have it that way, too.

On a sunny day you can go outside and ride your bike or go on a picnic.
On some days my brothers make a tent with blankets, pillows, chairs, bikes, the clothes line and clothes pins. Joanna is put outside in her exersaucer to play. My Dad will mow the front yard and then sweep up the side walk. We will have home made frozen juice or frozen yogurt on popsicle sticks. We take our school work outside and do it. Mom, Me and Daniel work in the garden. Then I will mow the back yard. We will grill hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, after we grill them my Dad cooks baked beans over the grill. We all have fun on sunny days.

God your Father in heaven

Read: Philippians 4:4-7

Kataleenas father was away and would come back to celebrate Christmas with her. But
today is Christmas eve thought Kataleena father has always made it back before. What if
he does not this time? He promised he would.

The next day

Kataleena woke up and ran down stairs yelling with happyness for father was home!!
"Dad, I`m sorry. I thought you would not be here on time because it was Christmas eve and you were not here."
"That is okay Kataleena. But you have another Father who you can be sure sent His son
Jesus Christ to come and take you home to ."
"Who?"
"God your Father in heaven."

Do you know God as your Father in heaven?
If not talk to a Godly adult or church leader.

Memorize:
Philippians 4:4-7
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,
will guard your heart and your mind in Jesus Christ."

Are you ready for Jesus?

Read: Revelations 22:12-14

Lillian smiled to herself as she thought of all the fun she was going have with Marianna, But
first she had to clean her room and Marianna was coming in 2 hours!
Finally Lillian was almost done all that was the desk. As she cleaned she saw a paper from her Sunday school teacher Mrs. Gibson. At the top it read ~Are you ready for Jesus?~.
Lillian thought - I better look at my life. Cause what if Jesus came today? I would not go to heaven. I`m gonna ask God to forgive my sins, come into my heart and help me.

Do you know Jesus as your Savior? If not go to a parent or church leader.
Do you know if your sins are forgiven? If not ask God to forgive your sins.

Memorize:
Revelations 22:7
"And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words
of the prophecy of this book."

There were other finger sandwiches and there were chocolate teddy grahams with peppermint dip. To drink there was lemon lift tea and pink lemonade. After we ate we went to another ladies house to see her huge doll collection. When we got back 2 of hostess`s helpers put on a puppet show. We did a treasure hunt to find things like a green fairy,
a key, 2 bugs, a doll chair and a tea set. Then we dressed up. Later we got in our real clothes and went home.

Verses 4

These are more verses I thought you might like:

Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.

The Lord is watching over us, its great right?

Proverbs 3:3-6
3Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind around your neck, write them on the
tablet of your heart. 4Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and
man. 5Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

It sounds so pretty, i love it, do you?

Psalms 73:27-28
27Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
28But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the sovereign Lord my refuge;
i will tell of all your (God's) deed's.

I hope you liked the verses. Did you? If so please tell me.
