Holiday Season

Well, its that time of year.  Time to bake cookies, make gifts, and pull out the decorations.  I love Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years celebration.  My problem with it is the rush, the gimme-gimme attitude.  Its supposed to be time to enjoy family and be full of joy, but people have pulled it totally out of wack.  They have lost the true meaning of the season.  The joy of family, friends and a new year.  I love that part of the season and I don't think anyone has that anymore.  Do you?  Do you slow down and enjoy the season?  Do you have any fun holiday family stories?

Lightsabers

 For Christmas I made Abby, Daniel, Tim, Ben and Joanna light sabers.  There not flimsy plastic ones either.  I used 2' of 3/4" thick PVC piping with 2 layers of installation wrapped with duck tape and then used colored duck tape, regular duck tape and electric tape to make them look like light sabers.

Family life

So at the moment we have my four cousins staying with us, not sure how long they'll be here. Four kids added on to a family of eight kids and two adults = full house, attitudes and (at times) fun/war. Its interesting living in a house of 14 peeps. Not much breathing room (figure of speaking). We have to redo chores, fun time, punishments, etc. Just a thought does anyone (personally - not the Duggards) know any families that size or close? I know a family of 12.
Pray for my other cousin as well - he has two types of cancer and the doctors say he has about 2 months left on earth. His father - my uncle - lost his wife to cancer two years after my cousin was born, so pray for him to get through this tough time.

Conneaut Pa

On Friday, My Grandma came and picked up Devorah, Abby and Me to take us to Conneaut Pa. On the way down to Conneaut Pa we saw the Indians fireworks, and we stopped at a causeway to look at the stars, we could see a band of the milky way! We got to Mr. Dave's house at 11:45 at night!
The next morning we got up, ate breakfast and got dressed. Then we started setting up for Mr.Dave`s party. He was having a Las Vegas themed party, so we put up tables for Black jack, Poker, Craps and Roulette. We put chairs at the tables (for the games and for food). We put food out and we decorated. Then Devorah, Abby and Me went for a walk on the boardwalk. When we got back everyone was there (including the rest of the family). We ate and then around 4 o`clock we started playing the games. I played black jack the whole time. Then the whole family went for a walk on the boardwalk. When we got back we helped clean up and then everyone went to bed.
The next morning we finished cleaning, ate lunch and packed up. Then everyone exept me, Daniel and went home(from the family). Then we had fun, ate dinner, went to bed, got up in the morning and went home.

Lock in:

Friday I made Truffles out of a bag of crushed Peppermint Oreo`s, Cream cheese and Dark chocolate, Very good. I made them for that night at the church lock in for 3rd-7th grade kids (at our church called kids club). When we got there we had pizza and cake, then went roller skating. When we got back we had ice cream sundaes, the truffles, and other things I can`t remember. Then we set up our sleeping bags. We had a talent show. We tried to watch a movie but they would not work. So we went to sleep. In the morning we had pancakes and sausage. Then got everything together to go home. Our Grandma M. picked us up and then I went to my Grandpa Z.`s house.

Grandparents house:

I`m at my Grandparents house house right now and decided to write a post. I came here cause my Grandpa Z. needed a little help cleaning the house (Grandma Z. is in Florida for a few days) so I came over. We cleaned up the house, went to the mall to get me new tennis shoes (my old ones were trash and not good for anything!), When we got home we took a rest then went to McDonald's for dinner and at home we played Scrabble (I won). Had lots of fun (Thank you Grandpa Z.). I`m sleeping over too.

Adventures in Odyssey

Devorah loves Adventures in Odyssey. Its cool. Its on at 4:30 - 5:00. Its station is 103.3. You should listen.

Joanna

She`s walking. The most she walked is 18 steps today. We celebrated her birthday the 13 and when we set her cake in front of her she grabbed it flung it around the room. She can say Dada, Doggie (or her version at least), Mama, Baba and other things I can`t remember.

My Dad is a great cook!!

My Dad is a great cook. I`m serious about it too. He makes Delicious food. One day he made a salad that had meat, mandarin orange, 2 different kinds of lettuce and a few pieces of bread and he made dressing to go with it. Another time he made chicken, rice, broccoli and a sauce. right now hes making a mystery food (at least I don`t know what hes making).

The Wii

My Grandma and a friend of hers bought this Wii for us as a Christmas present(Thank You).
Ever since we got it no one has played the game cube witch everyone loved, but the new favorite is definitely the Wii. We just got a new controller and WiiPlay (witch if I have any say is really fun), it has Shooting - ducks, Charge - cows that you have to get across the finish line or lose, Fishing, Person search - you have to find 2 matching people/the fastest person/the person your using or find the person who is does not match anyone else, Table tennis, Laser hockey, Battle - you have a tank and there are a few other tanks that you have to destroy, Bubbles - there is a shape (of a person) that you have to do the bubbles can not drop to the bottom of the TV and Pool. It is TONS of fun.

My Dad`s school

My Dad goes to Tri-C so he can earn a degree in cooking to sell his cheesecakes (see Cheesecake 1# and Cheesecake 2#). He does really good. Now I don`t know how my Dad likes it (I know I like it, cause he brought some really good brownies and I loved them. They were so good. Sooo I made some. I hope they turn out O.K. ). My Dad`s school work sounds easy compared to mine (I don`t care if its just a little bit a math). I glanced at once and the math problem I saw was easy to figure out (I wonder if my mom would let me do his math ).

Well I should stop complaining about my math and go do it,

Joanna

Joanna ate some banana.
She is 8 mos, has blue eyes, brownish hair, is crawling and is starting to eat real food.

I am the oldest in a family of 9, the Christain family and sometimes I think that our family is the most crazy family ever for as you see we are a big family.
But I know we are not biggest and craziest family.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - the 3 R`s
We can reduce our trash by using glass plates instead of paper.
We can recycle our trash by making new paper out of old paper.
We can reuse our trash by putting things in the old box`s.

Joanna and Ben the 2 troublemakers and the 2 cuties

Joanna is a BIG trouble maker at 6 months, I mean a BIG trouble maker. She is into paper and small toys (toys she can swallow like the wheels on a toy car - that have little pieces) and books and all kinds of other stuff. She can get into stuff because shes crawling.
But she is also cute with two dark blue eyes, a tiny nose and a beautiful little smile.
Ben is also a BIG trouble maker as well

3. He gets into markers or pens and starts drawing on himself (think its funny to he does)
   
4. He does not listen to you and throws fits.

But hes cute in his own way with a funny little voice, his funny little face and his short sandy hair.

Sunny days

On a sunny day you can go outside and ride your bike or go on a picnic.
On some days my brothers make a tent with blankets, pillows, chairs, bikes, the clothes line and clothes pins. Joanna is put outside in her exersaucer to play. My Dad will mow the front yard and then sweep up the side walk. We will have home made frozen juice or frozen yogurt on popsicle sticks. We take our school work outside and do it. Mom, Me and Daniel work in the garden. Then I will mow the back yard. We will grill hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, after we grill them my Dad cooks baked beans over the grill. We all have fun on sunny days.

Joanna or Baby Girl

Joanna is so cute. I mean who could be cuter? Joanna is a little princess. She was born on valentines day and is 5 mos old. She is the cutest baby ever. she is the youngest of seven children. We call her Joanna, Baby girl, Jo jo, Little girl, Little princess, Princess, Sweety pie and cutey. All of these and many more. We all love her. Especially Timothy who adores her and Benjamin who jumps to hold her (he is all over her all day long).
